We had so much fun on our school tour to Woodfield House! We were smiling from the moment we got on the bus! We did so many activities, it was great! The bus was a lot quieter on the way home as we were so tired!!! Check out some of the pictures from our great tour....
We had so much fun playing with the parachute for P.E. We learned a lot about listening & following instructions and team work!
It was really lovely having the book fair in the school hall for the week. We enjoyed visiting it and looking at the wonderful books. It was great to hear that the school got over 600 euro worth of free books. They will be brilliant to have in our new library! Thanks to everyone who helped out by buying these books :)
Show & Tell
We brought in a favourite small toy to show to the class and tell them all about it. It was nice to get to see all lovely toys and find out how they work!
Gymnastics Part 2
This week we had to follow a sequence in our groups. We had to do either a star, pin or ball shape. It was a lot of fun!!
World Book Day
For World Book Day we each picked our favourite book from the library and showed it to the class and explained what it was about and why we liked it so much!
We made some yummy pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. It was really great and they were delicious!! Big THANK YOU to the Parents Associations for organising it and letting us help out. We had a really fun time :)
Gymnastics Part 1
We have started to do some gymnastics as part of P.E. and we are really enjoying it. We are learning about balance and how to end a routine by having a strong body. Our favourite activities so far has been walking like a caterpillar or crab and also the star, pin, ball game. Check out some of the pictures below....
Although Zoe doesn't take us for dance anymore we still get to do some dancing via the Go Noodle website. It is so much fun and gets us out of our seats and moving. Our favourite dances are 'Dino Stomp', 'Wiggle It' and 'Ninja Dance'. You should check out the website www.gonoodle.com It's great entertainment ;)
Final Dance Class
We had our last dance class with Zoe this week. I was a lot of fun and we are really going to miss dancing with Zoe! Check out some of the pictures below and ask us what we were doing.... hopefully we will remember!! Thank you for dancing with us Zoe :)
We went on our class trip on Friday (December 18th) to the National Opera House in Wexford to see Rudey's Christmas Adventure. We have been so excited about this trip and we had so much fun. We loved getting on the bus and talking about all the things we saw along the way. The Opera House was brilliant and we really enjoyed meeting Rudey. Jack Frost wasn't very nice to begin with but we all liked him by the end. The best part though was meeting Santa! He fell asleep when we sang Jingle Bells.... it was really funny! Ms. Murphy was so proud of the way we behaved on the trip and said we were the best class ever :)
We started dance classes with Zoe on Wednesday (December 2nd) It was so much fun. We started off with magic dust that was used to make our bodies move then we played musical statues with a dance twist. We really enjoyed it and cannot wait for next week's class!!
G.A.A. Training Outside....
Damien came to coach us on Thursday and we were delighted to get outside to train for a change. We did some fun new fitness games before getting a chance to have a kick about. We really enjoyed taking shots at goal.... we were told we were very good too!!
We received the Ireland flag and the Proclamation on Friday (November 20th) as part of the anniversary of the 1916 Rising happening in March 2016. Two soldiers came to the school and spoke to us about the celebrations that will be taking place and answered lots of our questions. We made some little flags for their visit and sang Amhrán na bhFiann for them too.
We are so lucky to have Harry coming into us every Thursday to do some GAA training with us. At the moment we are doing some fitness activities.
Rainy Days :-/
It seems that winter has come at last and the rain means that we do not get to go out on the yard at breaktime :( BUT we don't let that ruin our fun..... We have a great time in the hall!!
We had a fancy dress day in school the day we got the midterm. We all looked great and had a lot of fun showing the other classes our costumes!!
We have been learning all about road safety in S.P.H.E. We discussed what we should do when we want to cross the road and looked at pictures of people on the road and debated whether what they were doing was safe or not. We had a lot of fun learning the safe cross code song & dance. We now know that when it comes to crossing the road it is important to STOP, LOOK & LISTEN.
Getting fit is fun!!
In our school we have a Healthy Eating Policy but along with that we have decided to get active. Everyday we spend at least 10 minutes getting very active. We do this through using GoNoodle or our favourite is the Operation Transformation song/dance 'Step it Up'.
Give it a try!!!
